Multimedia
I have presented a multimedia project with 2 of my classmates in the course Instructional Media and Techniques (EDU232) about the types of pollution that will be instructed for 5th graders. We included a PowerPoint presentation about 4 main types of pollution, a WebQuest to explore about 2 other types of pollution that aren't much known, an interactive bulletin board, a graphic mounting and a digital game (questions and answers).
1) The PowerPoint presentation included causes and effects of the 4 types of pollution (water, air, soil, and noise) and real live pictures of the damages done by those types of pollution. The PowerPoint included general solutions for all types of pollution.
2) The Web quest included 2 unknown types of pollution: Heat and light pollution. The students were going to explore their causes, effects and solutions and present their findings in front of the class in groups.
3) The interactive bulletin board is the following: The students, after learning about the causes, effects and solutions would assess themselves by engaging in this interactive bulletin board. They would be given the light green pieces of paper wit solutions on them regarding each type of pollution and they would try to stick it the right place for better learning.
4) The graphic mounting or the visual is the following: This visual will remain on the class wall during the entire lesson. The purpose is to remind students that saving the Earth is in their future hands. They can rescue the world by their efforts.
5) The digital game URL is the following: https://flipquiz.me/review/175567
The game involves buttons that when clicked on, questions pop up. There will be teams that compete against each other. In case one team answers wrong, the other team will be given the chance to answer. If they answer wrong too, the teacher will reveal the answer. The teacher is in charge of the game. Whichever team answers the most questions correctly, they will win. The winners will be participating with the school’s environment committee in their plan for organizing an Eco-friendly day.

Technologies Used in the Classroom
Two useful 21st century technology tools are:
1. Use of smart interactive white boards
The modern white boards have a touch quality that teachers can use to write on. They can use either a pen or their finger. The teacher can demonstrate visuals on the white board using a projector. This is an advance to the learning process. These white boards are interactive in the sense that students can manipulate the images on them. They can write and draw on it according to the type of the lesson. They are powered electronically and the teachers or the students can simply switch it on. It can also save the work of the teachers and the students for later use,. The students will be engaged in active participation and that's what they require nowadays.

2. Class Blog
Students along with their teacher can create their very own class blog, where they can post class-related material and share with their classmates. The teacher can post their assignments and projects on that blog and they can follow up with that schedule. The teacher will be the host of that blog. The use of the blog is very applicable and easy. Students will be exposed to a 21st century learning medium which is something new to them. And something new is always exciting so the students will be eager to learn via the blog. Pictures Used in the Classroom
http://hssd-tlc.weebly.com/uploads/1/2/6/6/12661044/critical_thinking_map.png
I chose this picture to use in my classroom when teaching reading. After reading a story we chose, we will start to describe and clarify what we need to know. This will be the inform and describe stage. The, we will start to analyze and try to look at the plot more closely and start to be more purposeful in seeking information. This will be the discover stage. then, we will negotiate, cooperate and engage in discussion about characters, plots, end results...etc. Finally, we will test out different evidence and ideas. Then, we will try to apply the plot and relate to our real lives. This technique will be used after reading each story.

The 3 Cs can be used in my classroom during reading in the sense that the students will communicate and collaborate their ideas and what they understood from the story. Then, i will ask them to write a story on their own. This will show how creative they can get. They are allowed to use technology in coming up with ideas.

These strategies are very important ones when it comes to reading comprehension. During reading, I will ask of my learners to reread the text to understand more, to activate their prior knowledge of vocabulary and lexicon, to understand each sentence by its context, to infer meaning, to think aloud for better interpretation, and to summarize the story into 4 parts: the characters, the setting, plot and solution. These strategies are very useful for better comprehension skills of the learners.

The digital literacy skills are very crucial in the 21st century and all of them involve technology. Learners will use 21st century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration and cultural understanding when reading and analyzing what they have read. These will be used during reading also.

This visual will be shown to students before starting the reading session. This will activate the students' minds to be aware of what they should be doing when reading, such as imagining the pictures in their heads, rereading, looking up words in dictionary...etc. This will help the students organize their thoughts and become better readers.

Quotes about Teaching
This quote has always driven me in the sense that it is true that we as teachers plan our instruction. However, what really matters is the theater which is 75% of our teaching experience. What I mean by theater is the way we instruct and demonstrate the lesson. This is the part that matters the most because this part decides if the students will be attracted by the instruction or not. (source: http://quotesgram.com/good-theatre-quotes/)
This quote is inspiring because it includes the fact that the role
of teachers isn't only limited to providing the material.
It goes beyond that. Nowadays, the teachers make sure they take every child's dreams into consideration and give them proper guidance and feedback to reach their goals. (source:https://www.pinterest.com/pin/151715081172335034/)
This quote includes an important idea. It's the idea of involving a child in the instruction. A child learns best when he is given attention and interacts with his classmates to reach a common goal. When a child is told and taught only, his learning will not be enhanced. (source: https://www.pinterest.com/centergrovemont/montessori-quotes/)

3 Things Learnt from a Former Teacher
The 3 things I learnt from a former teacher:
1. To engage my learners in active participation in class and activate cooperation among them.
2. To be a guide rather than be controlling of the classroom.
3. To give feedback and motivate my students towards better learning.
